A semi-low-loader shown by Nooteboom at the IAA in Hanover is designed just to transport the elevating work platforms used in construction and plant maintenance. These small work platforms are narrow enough so that two can be loaded side-by-side. For that reason, the deck of the trailer has over 100 lashing rings arranged in four rows. Each work platform can be tied down individually. The raised side rail provides security against lateral shifting, and it can be pulled outboard 300 mm (12") for wider loads.
For ground level loading, the loading ramps at the rear unfold hydraulically and provide a 9° load angle. For loading onto a dock, the ramps are raised hydraulically to dock level. The deck also has an elevating ramp to load work platforms onto the gooseneck. All ramps have decks of non-slip open grid material that is hot-dip galvanized. The fold-down lashing rings are also hot-dip galvanized.
One option is to equip the whole trailer with aisle path illumination. Each of the four longitudinal channels in which the lashing rings are recessed would also contain narrow LED lamps as a visual guide during night loading. Royal Nooteboom Trailers BV, P O Box 155, NL-6600 AD Wijchen, Netherlands
