Liner Bond fills voids more completely
Convenience Products, manufacturer of Touch ‘n Seal insulating foam products, introduces new Liner Bond one-component cylinder adhesive. Liner Bond is a portable, gun-applied spray polyurethane foam used to bond fiberglass liners in refrigerated trailers. It is safer, stronger, and fills voids more completely than caulking, glues, or other adhesives.
“Liner Bond has been tested and proven to be five times stronger than the polyurethane foam insulation in refrigerated trailers. This means that the insulating foam will crack and fail before Liner Bond will. It also has a 30-minute dry time,” said Larry Pennock, vice-president of sales and marketing.
Liner Bond comes in a 23-lb canister with 10-foot hose and bottom load gun applicator (#4004517100) or as a refill canister only (#4004517101).

Polymer system cures by UV light or heat
Master Bond Inc. has introduced a new one-component, optically clear, non-yellowing UV- and/or heat-curable polymer system called UV15-7DC. This system is designed for bonding, sealing, and coating applications. It is 100% reactive and does not contain any solvents or other volatiles. UV15-7DC is not inhibited by air and exhibits a fast UV cure at ambient temperatures.
Typical cure times range from five seconds to two to three minutes depending upon the wave length, intensity of the UV light, and the thickness being cured. Typical heat curing schedules are 10 to 30 minutes at 250°-260° F. Heat curing is recommended for use in applications with “shadowed-out areas”.
UV15-7DC is easy to use and has a low viscosity. It has outstanding durability, toughness, thermal shock resistance, as well as excellent adhesion to many different substrates. These substrates include glass, metals, plastics, polyester films, and polycarbonates. It has an elongation of 65%-75%, and its tensile strength is 5,460 psi.
This product is offered in pint, quart, gallon, and five-gallon containers. For ease of application, it also is available in syringe applicators.

Adhesives provide longer working times
Three Plexus structural adhesives produce exceptionally strong yet flexible bonds on composites and offer medium to long working times for large assemblies. They require little or no surface preparation and cure at room temperature.
Two-part structural methacrylates dispensed manually or with standard meter-mix equipment — MA530, MA560-1, and MA590 — are 100% reactive, non-sagging gels recommended for joining composite assemblies, ABS, acrylics, FRP, gelcoats, polyesters, PVC, styrenics, and vinyl esters.
MA530 has a working time of 30-40 minutes and fills gaps up to 0.70“. A 0.03“ bond line achieves approximately 75% of its ultimate shear strength in 90-160 minutes at 74° F, according to preliminary testing data. It is available in ready-to-use 400-ml cartridges, five-gallon pails, and 50-gallon drums.
MA560-1 has a longer working time (55-70 minutes) and fills gaps up to 1.00“. It is recommended for large structures as well as small-part assembly where fewer workers are required. Fixture time for a 0.03“ bond line is 220-240 minutes at 74° F. This adhesive is also recommended for certain metals and many other substrates. It is available in ready-to-use 400-ml cartridges, five-gallon pails, and 50-gallon drums.
MA590 has a working time of 90-105 minutes. A 0.03“ bond line achieves approximately 75% of its ultimate shear strength in 180-240 minutes at 74° F. This adhesive fills gaps up to 1.00 and is recommended for certain metals in addition to many other substrates. It is available in ready-to-use 400-ml cartridges, five-gallon pails, and 50-gallon drums.

Adchem has variety of adhesive tapes
Adchem Corporation offers a broad range of custom foam bonding adhesive tapes for sound attenuation and vibration damping applications. Providing superior noise and vibration control, these foam bonding systems include adhesion to a variety of synthetic and natural materials. Adchem provides acrylic and rubber adhesive systems and acrylic/rubber hybrid products for OEMs and foam and gasket fabricators nationwide.
Viscoelastic properties of Adchem's adhesive tapes create structural borne wave interference and refraction when placed between two sheets of material. This composite will exhibit less vibration; therefore, reduced sound energy is generated.
