The 2003 — 2004 Economic Handbook of The Machine Tool Industry is available from AMT — The Association For Manufacturing Technology. This 300-page handbook offers the latest information on domestic and international machine tool industries, as well as their respective economies and was compiled from hundreds of domestic and foreign resources.
Both product- and country-specific machine tool data are included, and information about capital equipment purchases is broken out for several major consuming industries. The domestic data covers employment, machine tool shipments, machine tools in use, and the financial condition of the industry.
The Economic Handbook also provides a range of international facts for nearly two dozen nations, typically including production, imports, and exports by type of machine tool. This year it includes more comprehensive data from several countries including Brazil, China, Poland, and Denmark.
This handbook is free to AMT members; it costs $295 plus $5 for postage and handling for non-members. To order, e-mail AMT's Kendale Smith at [email protected], phone 703-827-5256, or go to www.AMTonline.org.
