The National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) knows that it’s not easy being green. In an effort to recognize companies who develop innovative products and technology that improve work truck fuel utilization, the association therefore announces a new award: The Work Truck Show Green Award. The winner of this award will be selected at The Work Truck Show 2009.
The Work Truck Show Green Award joins two other awards sponsored by the NTEA and chosen at the annual Work Truck Show: the New Product Innovation Award and the Editors’ Choice Award for New Product Innovation. All of the contests are open to companies exhibiting new products at The Work Truck Show 2009, March 4-6, 2009. The Show is held at the McCormick Place West Building in Chicago, IL, in conjunction with the 45th Annual NTEA Convention, which runs March 3-6.
The Work Truck Show Green Award is the latest enhancement to the NTEA’s focus on hybrid and alternative fuel vocational trucks and equipment at The Work Truck Show 2009 and 45th Annual NTEA Convention. Additional “green” activities at the event include the full-day Green Truck Summit on Tuesday, March 3; a Green Truck Ride-and-Drive open to all attendees on March 4 and 5; a Green Truck Pavilion on the show floor dedicated to commercially viable hybrid and alternative fuel trucks, components and equipment; and three concurrent education sessions offered through the educational conference.
To qualify for The Work Truck Show Green Award, the product or technology must be new (introduced within the 12 months preceding the show), manufactured or distributed by a show exhibitor and displayed in that company’s booth at the Work Truck Show 2009. The product or technology must improve fuel utilization for work trucks. There is no entry fee. The winner will be selected by popular vote of trade media attending the show.
To be eligible for the New Product Innovation Award, the exhibiting company must participate in the New Product Spotlight program, a multi-media campaign that publicizes new products before, during and after the Work Truck Show. Cost to participate in the New Product Spotlight program is $200; there is no fee to be considered for the Award. The first Spotlight deadline, which provides participants with maximum exposure, is Nov. 7, 2008. The winner is selected by popular vote of Show attendees.
Trade media editors attending the Work Truck Show draw upon their industry expertise to select the winner of the Editors’ Choice Award for New Product Innovation. Entry into this competition is automatic when an exhibitor takes advantage of the New Product Spotlight and/or New Product Media Guide program. The New Product Media Guide is a detailed compilation of exhibitor new product literature, news releases and photos that is provided by the NTEA to attending media. Through this program, exhibitors will benefit from exceptional media exposure when their new product information is delivered directly to representatives of the more than 150 media outlets attending The Work Truck Show. Participation in the Media Guide program is free. The deadline is Jan. 2, 2009.
“The Work Truck Show is the largest work truck and trailer event in North America,” says Jim Carney, NTEA executive director. “It is a perfect venue for manufacturers to launch new chassis, commercial truck equipment, accessories and other truck products, and for customers to see the latest industry developments all in one place.”
