The Truck Cap & Accessory Alliance (TCAA) has expanded from its primary focus on truck caps to a full variety of truck accessories and changed its name to the Light Truck Accessory Alliance (LTAA), SEMA announced. TCAA's Select Committee, at its recent long-range planning meeting, engaged in debate and discussion to deal with the evolution of the marketplace and the TCAA membership. At the recommendation of the committee, a proposal was drafted to request a council name change to LTAA, which it felt was a stronger description of the group's vast membership. The SEMA Board of Directors approved the name change at its quarterly meeting in September.SEMA said the Select Committee's decision to pursue a name change is in the best interest of the council and is unanimously supported by the council's leadership. The alliance feels the new branding will better represent a full range of light-truck accessory interests across the supply chain from the dealer level to the truck-accessory manufacturers. The new name will be phased into the industry between SEMA Show 2003 and the 2004 SEMA Spring Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana.
