Kalyn Siebert, a wholly owned subsidiary of Heil Trailer International, has introduced its Commander Series trailer.

These 51- and 55-ton-capacity trailers come standard with a four-beam design, machine-welded 130,000-psi steel construction allowing maximum strength-to-weight ratio. A lower deck height (20") simplifies loading of equipment and reduces the center of gravity, improving load stability. With 11 ride height adjustment levels on the gooseneck, any of the five models gives more “up and down” deck travel. Kalyn Siebert also redesigned the line with a narrower neck width to handle special equipment loads.

Commanders also have a new gooseneck design offering greater throat clearance for longer truck frames and a longer front deck taper, creating a lower front approach angle. Kalyn lowered the crossmembers at the rear deck and throughout the rear section permitting boom transport, if required; and with no front bolsters forward of the first trailer axle, these trailers enable the driver to load equipment much easier past the rear drop. Each trailer's rear frame comes standard with recessed flanges that allow the owner to install an optional air lift on the third axle.

This series of products serves five customer segments. The KSHRG (Hydraulic Detach Gooseneck) serves the transportation/construction industry; the MRG (Mechanical Detach Gooseneck) serves the general transportation industry; the KDP (Drop Deck Platform) also works for the general transportation industry; the KHSA (Sliding Axle) serves the towing/wrecker industry; and the LBO (Oilfield Lowbed) serves the oilfield transportation industry.

Kalyn Siebert shot blasts each trailer before painting and uses an epoxy primer and polyurethane paint for a supreior finish. The series is backed by a five-year prorated frame warranty and a three-year paint warranty. For more details, e-mail [email protected].
