Sterling Truck Corporation is celebrating its fifth year of building trucks in a completely remodeled assembly plant in St Thomas, Ontario, Canada. Since opening the plant, Sterling has built more than 85,000 medium- and heavy-duty trucks. In 2002, Sterling's share in the US and Canada was 6% of the Class 8 market and 3.3% of the Class 6 and Class 7 market.
Sterling also announced that it has expanded its dealer network by more than 30% during the past 18 months. The company now has more than 300 dealers throughout the US and Canada.
