DaimlerChrysler Services donates Freightliner truck for Katrina evacuees

DaimlerChrysler Services North America, aided by its Truck Finance division and a Freightliner dealership in Mount Clemens, MI, has donated a 2006 Freightliner M2 truck with an 18-ft. refrigerated body to Forgotten Harvest, a Michigan-based organization that delivers perishable food to the needy.

“This new truck will help ensure that more than six million pounds of food are provided annually to people in need,” said Susan Goodell, executive director of Forgotten Harvest. “We plan to use this new truck to deliver food to victims of Hurricane Katrina who have moved to Southeast Michigan.”

To date, DaimlerChrysler Services and its employees have donated over $300,000 to the American Red Cross to aid victims of Katrina.
