The average price for a gallon of diesel nationally declined 3.3 cents to $2.43 for the week ending January 21, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The average price for a gallon of diesel nationally declined 3.3 cents to $2.43 for the week ending January 21, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

Prices dropped in all regions, with the Lower Atlantic slipping the least (0.7 cents to $2.361), but was still tied with the Gulf Coast for cheapest region.

The biggest decline came in the West Coast (5.4 cents to $2.695), with California remaining the most expensive region at $2.742 after a 3.1-cent drop.
