HDAW 2020 planning to ‘Command the Road Ahead’

Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week conference organizers recently elected new co-chairs and selected “Command the Road Ahead” as the theme for its 2020 event at a new venue, the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine TX.

HDAW 2020, jointly sponsored by 12 industry associations, including the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association, International Truck Parts Association and VIPAR Heavy Duty, will provide “industry-leading” education that serves as a focal point for guiding the independent heavy duty aftermarket through an ever-evolving landscape, according to organizers.

The event, intended for suppliers and distributors, is set for Jan 27-30, 2020, in the Dallas area suburb of Grapevine.

“The HDAW 2020 event theme serves as a powerful mantra and a rally-cry behind the selection of education topics and speakers as we continue to look for ways to support and grow the industry,” said Tim Bauer, vice president of Eaton Aftermarket North America and HDAW’s newly elected 2020 supplier chair.

“It’s imperative that suppliers quickly adapt to changing technology and develop new offerings for fleets. With ‘Command the Road Ahead,’ we are proactively accelerating education of industry trends and innovations. The powerful education sessions at HDAW ensure that suppliers will ‘stay in the driver’s seat’ as they plan for future success.”

Also responsible for developing HDAW’s 2020 theme and education program is Sean Ryan, president and treasurer at Point Spring & Driveshaft Co, and HDAW’s newly elected 2020 distributor chair.

“‘Command the Road Ahead’ doesn’t shy away from the fact that the heavy duty aftermarket industry is evolving,” Ryan said. “HDAW is taking an authoritative position to ensure our distributors stay ahead of the curve with forward-looking education sessions from the industry’s top thought leaders. We are here to provide the industry with the solutions, tools, and knowledge they need to succeed through the evolution of our industry.”

Education sessions planned for the 2020 event focus on technology, customers and products specifically addressing key trends that will affect the distributor business in the next several years. A complete lineup of sessions will be announced in October, organizers said. Visit hdaw.org/2019 for a review of last year’s topics.

With 80% more space than previous years, the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center will host more than 2,500 heavy duty aftermarket professionals for four days of education workshops and product training, organizers said, including SOLD! (Service Opportunities & Learning Day), a two-day program designed for distributors with service and repair technicians.

The event will additionally feature a product expo with the latest and greatest heavy duty parts and services on display from the key industry suppliers. Various networking opportunities, social activities, and supplier and distributor one-on-one meetings will give the industry quality opportunities to collaborate, connect and get business done.

Registration for HDAW 2020 opens on Sept 3. Visit hdaw.org for more information.
