Fontaine targets fleet affordability
Platform trailer leader Fontaine prominently featured the prototype for the upcoming Fontaine FORCE line in the expansive Marmon display space at TMC 2026.
The FORCE is an all-aluminum flatbed trailer engineered for fleets that demand superior lightweight performance, exceptional stability, best-in-class fit and finish, and real-world toughness and, critically, at an attractive price point “that makes sense for fleets.”
“The Fontaine FORCE is the [trailer] that I'm most excited about at the show,” said Fontaine President Alan Briley, speaking briefly before an off-site gathering of dealers and customers. “We purposely brought this product here about six, seven months ahead of release, just to get the voice of the customer. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive—a lot of great suggestions about some things that we can tweak and make it even better for the marketplace.
“It’s the dawn of a new trailer generation.”
The FORCE features all-aluminum construction for reduced tare weight, higher payloads, and corrosion resistance. Its industry standard mainbeam centers for a 102" trailer provide a wider stance and superior support, reducing lean on high-center-of-gravity loads, while outside-beam crossmember attachment minimizes stress for rock-solid structural integrity.
Welded beam construction ensures maximum long-term strength, and the replaceable winch track plus bolted connections in high-impact zones allow quick, cost-effective repairs with no proprietary complications.
It includes standard Hendrickson suspension—non-proprietary, widely available, and easy to service—for fleet-focused reliability and durability.
“Everything we do is focused on the customer,” said Al Cox, senior director of sales for Fontaine. “We listen to customers and deliver practical solutions that drive real results. The new Fontaine FORCE flatbed with its aluminum construction, wider beam centers, and smart repair-friendly design is built to maximize payloads and minimize downtime—making it a true game-changer for high-volume fleets.”
Fleet-friendly value
The FORCE is just the next in Fontaine’s recent line of trailers with a more fleet-friendly value proposition, meant to fill “a void” for customers who don’t need all of the top-of-the-line features for which Fontaine is known.
“We're the leader in products that have very premium features that are valuable to the marketplace, and also have the highest quality—along with the best vocational dealer network in the country—and that is what's made us number one and kept us number one,” Briley said. “So rather than sit on our laurels as the number one flatbed manufacturer, we continue to look forward and expand into other parts of the market.”
Specifically, Fontaine FUSION trailers feature galvanized steel components paired with lightweight aluminum components to enhance corrosion resistance. Available in flatbed and dropdeck models, FUSION delivers reliable, low-maintenance performance in tough applications.
The FUSION trailer features an aluminum deck, galvanized steel main beams, and galvanized steel crossmembers spaced 12 inches apart, achieving a 52,000-lb. rating in just four feet while minimizing weight. The durable galvanized steel rear design provides superior impact resistance and torsional stability, ensuring strength under heavy loads and frequent loading shocks.
The RASR aluminum siderail is DOT-rated for full-length securing, and its recessed face protects conspicuity tape, reducing maintenance costs and ensuring continued DOT compliance.
“Galvanization is nothing new, it’s just a road that we have not been down,” Briley noted. “But we started to see more and more demand, primarily in the Northeast and in the snow belt, for an all-galvanized product to be more corrosion resistant. It has already been a tremendous success for us and, surprising to me, we've had demand from really across the country.”
Likewise, the Fontaine IMPACT is a durable, lightweight, and cost-effective flatbed trailer engineered to meet customer demands for performance and affordability.
The IMPACT trailer features an aluminum deck and steel mainbeams with strategically spaced steel crossmembers, achieving a 50,000 pound rating in just four feet while minimizing weight. Its robust steel rear design enhances impact resistance and torsional stability, ensuring durability under heavy loads and frequent loading shocks. A fulllength integrated winch track on both sides makes load securement fast and easy.
Fontaine IMPACT trailers are available in 48' and 53' models, both featuring wide-spread axles and air suspension.
“The INFINITY is our incumbent model, and it’s loaded with premium features for a combo flatbed,” Briley continued. “But we started getting a lot of feedback from customers that were demanding, not necessarily a stripped-down product, just a more fleet-focused and streamlined set of specs for fleets. From that was born the Fontaine IMPACT.”
