Schneider expands in Southwest with new Phoenix facility

Truck transportation giant Schneider is set to open a new facility in Phoenix on Wednesday, responding to industry demand by significantly investing in the growing Southwest region—to say nothing of expanding the Schneider footprint in the backyard of some its biggest competitors.

Truck transportation giant Schneider is set to open a new facility in Phoenix on Wednesday, responding to industry demand by significantly investing in the growing Southwest region—to say nothing of expanding the Schneider footprint in the backyard of some its biggest competitors.

The Phoenix facility will accommodate Schneider’s Van Truckload, Teams, Intermodal and Specialty Dedicated offerings and immediately bring new driving opportunities to the area, the company reports.

The new Phoenix facility means more local transportation resources and operational infrastructure for area shippers in this growing region. Additionally, it means closer proximity to current customers and a more direct route to Western markets.

“Opening the new Phoenix facility is like moving from a 300-square-foot apartment to a 2,300-square-foot apartment, and we couldn’t be more excited,” said Nuno Gomes, regional vice president for Schneider. “Not only is it in a great location with proximity to customers and drivers in the area, but it underscores our commitment to the greater Phoenix area. Plus, it enables us to provide more capacity to shippers who move freight in and through the region, especially en route to Los Angeles.”
