Heavy-duty and specialized transportation equipment manufacturer Goldhofer plans to establish its first North American production facility in Hickory, North Carolina, the Memmingen, Germany-based company recently reported.

Goldhofer will invest more than $20 million in the project, creating at least 80 new jobs by the end of 2030, the company stated. The aim is to “significantly strengthen” its manufacturing and service capabilities across the North American market.

The new Hickory facility will be constructed on Lot 5 at Trivium Corporate Center, with an initial 80,000-square-foot production hall. Additional phases of development are planned as the company continues to expand its footprint and meet growing customer demand throughout North America.
