Phillips Industries has released to the aftermarket its I-Box, a nosebox designed to handle the expanding electronic requirements of today's trailers.

The I-Box has a third more working room inside the box, which alleviates wire pinching and pull-out that has become a problem for standard noseboxes on trailers with supplemental systems such as trailer tracking and weigh systems. It can also house Phillip's Permalogic Controller and has enough room for flash memory to store trailer schematics, bills of material and other important documents and keep them dry. Other time- and money-saving features of the I-Box include:

  • A removable lid with weatherproof gasket that protects the interior against corrosion and extreme weather.

  • Circuit breakers housed in the I-Box that can be changed in seconds.

  • Phillips seven-way QCS2 quick-connect socket, allowing for easy replacement when required.

The I-Box, initially introduced as a new trailer option in 2008, can now be purchased through Phillips authorized dealers and distributors to retrofit to existing trailers.
