An electric-drive high-speed automatic screwdriver is the latest addition to the Deck Mate floor drilling system from CZ Engineering Inc.

A push of a thumb button drives standard 5/16" or 1/4" screws in trailer or truck body floors in about 1½ seconds.

Since the patented screwdriver is mounted to the same bridge rail as one or two Deck Mate drilling units, the operator need only advance the screwdriver to the next hole and push the button. Longitudinal alignment and precision depth control are maintained by the machine, and screws are fed automatically.

The one-handed operation results in improved ergonomics as well as increased speed and quality.

The company reports a 2/3 reduction in labor costs when the Deck Mate drilling and screwdriving systems are used together. The electric spindle drive results in lower maintenance costs and a quieter work environment than with air-driven tools.
