BWise Manufacturing expanding in Chambersburg

BWise, manufacturer of the BWise and Bri-Mar brands of trailers in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, has bought the entire building in which it was operating, along with the surrounding acreage.

BWise has operated in part of the 414,000-square-foot building for the past few years, but has purchased building and grounds from Chambersburg Business Park LP, Chambersburg Business Park II LP and Holdings TD Manager LLC for a reported $9.5 million.

The decision was driven by the need to expand and also stay in Chambersburg. The company also plans to invest in an automated paint system.

“As a company, we care about our community, and that’s why we bought the building,” David McKee, vice president of sales and marketing, told Crossroads Business Journal in a recent article. “Growing in Chambersburg is important to us. … We’ve got a great local workforce.”

BWise makes 7,500 to 9,000 trailers a year aimed at a variety of uses—from dump trailers to those that carry construction tools or haul heavy equipment—and sells them through a network of about 200 dealers.
