Big Tex Trailer Manufacturing, Inc. has acquired Circle J Trailers of Caldwell, Idaho, a 51-year-old manufacturer of steel, aluminum exterior, and all-aluminum horse trailers that is one of the oldest trailer companies in the United States and a respected name in the horse trailer industry.
Operations will continue in Caldwell in the current facility.
Even in the midst of an industry slowdown, Big Tex recognizes the value and reputation of Circle J Trailers and its premium quality trailers continuing to play a leading role in the Western U.S. and Western Canadian markets through its network of loyal and capable dealers.
In addition to the continued manufacture of Circle J trailers, Big Tex trailers will also be produced in Caldwell and the large facility will serve as a distribution center for CM Trailers and CM Truck Bed products.
“We are really excited about this new opportunity with Circle J Trailers. The name is legendary and it is truly an honor to be associated with the history and reputation of Circle J”, says Ricky Baker, President/CEO of Big Tex. “We are doubly pleased that this acquisition will even better enable us to serve our dealers in the region with our other products. Faster deliveries, lower prices, and the opportunity for them to purchase less than truckload quantities will be of great benefit to them.”
In February, Big Tex announced the purchase of a manufacturing facility in Cordele, Georgia, which has begun distribution of Big Tex, CM, S&H, and CM truck beds. Manufacturing operations are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter.
