Performance Trailers of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, now complies with National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) Guidelines and will display the NATM compliance decal signifying a high safety standard after passing the safety compliance consultation, part of NATM’s voluntary compliance program.

NATM’s compliance program, including its consultation, is based on the NATM Guidelines for Recommended Minimum Manufacturing Practices for Light- and Medium-Duty Trailers. The Guidelines is a compilation of federal safety standards and regulations and industry best practices that govern trailer construction.

Founded in 1984, Performance Trailers is a manufacturer of flat-bed utility, dump-bed and equipment trailers with a Texas-based manufacturing plant located in Mt. Pleasant. With the recent addition of enclosed cargo to the product line, Performance now offers a diverse line of powder-coated standard utility, dump, custom, enclosed and livestock trailers.

NATM’s compliance program, including the on-site consultation, is available to all NATM trailer manufacturing members on a voluntary basis. Once the manufacturer’s manufacturing process passes the 80-point checklist based on the Guidelines, the company is then NATM compliant and eligible to purchase NATM’s red, white and blue compliance decals for application to its compliant trailers. The decal states that the trailer was “Manufactured in Compliance with NATM Guidelines.”
