In May, Heil Trailer International’s Athens, Tennessee, facility achieved over one million production hours and 500 work days without a lost-time injury—the second time in five years that the Athens facility has achieved this.

During the time of this achievement, the facility has increased production by over 50% while increasing employee count by 66%. No work-related injury or illness has prevented employees from fulfilling scheduled work shifts since December 4, 2010.

“I am very proud of the Athens facility in achieving this record,” says Karen Czor, Global Environmental, Health and Safety Manager. “The commitment to promoting a safe work environment is one of Heil Trailer’s core values. In an industry where automation is not heavily used, our employees are the key to achieving such outstanding success. Each day, they come to work and make the choice to work safely.”
