Great Dane Trailers will offer Transtex Composite's Maximum Flex Skirt (MFS) as standard equipment to customers who choose aerodynamic components on their trailers.
The Transtex MFS yields fuel savings of up to 7%, according to SAE Type II J1321 track testing results. In addition, the side skirt is made of lightweight reinforced thermoplastic composite panels that will not rust, corrode, or require any maintenance for the life of the trailer, according to the manufacturer. A five-year warranty is also included.
To prevent damage and retain its shape, the patent-pending MFS can flex if it contacts an obstacle. The panels are also waterproof and reduce ice and snow accumulation, helping reduce splashing to improve driver visibility.
MFS fairings are EPA SmartWay-verified and fully compliant with California Air Resources Board (CARB) regulations.
