KampCo Steel Products, a steel fabrication company that specializes in truck body and trailer components, is now in its third generation of ownership, effective May 1.
Started in 1972 by Wayne Kamp, the company had been owned by the family’s second generation: Ed and Sue Freel and Jim and Donna Kamp. Under the terms of a recent purchasing agreement, the third generation of the Kamp family acquires majority interest in the company. The new owners are Brent Freel, Dr. Christine Bonfiglio, and Michelle Gee (children of Ed and Sue Freel) and Jeff Kamp and Lisa Jones (children of Jim and Donna Kamp).
Wayne Kamp started the company in a 25,000-sq-ft building with eight employees. It now has 110,000 square feet under roof and has 45 employees.
“The third generation is excited about this new opportunity,” says Sue Freel. “They are in the process of casting a new vision for a bright future.”
