Green Truck Association to demonstrate lightweighting

Jan. 3, 2017

The Green Truck Association (GTA) and its Lightweight Technology Council will showcase special medium-duty trucks equipped with weight-reducing products as part of The Work Truck Show® 2017 March 15-17, at the Indiana Convention Center.

The Lightweight and Advanced Technology Demo Trucks Display) will feature components and technology of participating companies that result in fuel and emissions benefits. Two trucks will be the focal point of the display:

• A Ford chassis equipped with aluminum cab.   It will include a concept gooseneck platform built by Knapheide Manufacturing Company.

• An Isuzu NPR with 13,000 pounds gross vehicle weight rating.  It will be equipped with an aluminum service body built by Reading Truck Body (www.readingbody.com).

The trucks will both be equipped with other products designed to reduce weight and fuel consumption.  Engineers from the National Renewable Energy Lab will project the fuel and emissions benefits of each model vehicle resulting from the use of the components and technology.
