California Phases In Copper-Free Brake Pads

With Senate Bill 346, California is phasing in regulations that limit the amount of harmful chemicals in brake pads.

With Senate Bill 346, California is phasing in regulations that limit the amount of harmful chemicals in brake pads.

 With this new law, the amount of copper, lead, hexavalent chromium, mercury and asbestiform fibers in brake pads sold in California will be restricted to zero amounts by 2025. In a new Department of Toxic Substances Control video, major milestones in the introduction of copper-free brake pads, are highlighted.
