Former Congressman to present at the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Dialogue

Nov. 19, 2014

With the November election causing major changes in the composition of Congress, a former Congressman will offer his views on what to expect in the coming months.

Geoff Davis, who served as a U S Representative from 2005-2012, will deliver a key speech at the upcoming Heavy Duty Aftermarket Dialog January 26 in Las Vegas.

During his tenure in Congress, he held a leadership role within the Republican Conference as a Deputy Whip. Davis served on the House Financial Services and Armed Services Committees from 2005 to 2008, and then was appointed to the Ways & Means Committee in 2009.

In the 112th Congress, Davis was named chairman of the Ways & Means’ Subcommittee on Human Resources, which has jurisdiction over a wide range of federal programs, including unemployment insurance, temporary assistance for needy families, child welfare, adoption and foster care. Davis was also a member of the Subcommittee on Trade.

Davis’ presentation, entitled “Politics, What Does It All Mean?,” will present a detailed look at the current priorities in Washington, including industry regulations, likely outcomes, and what to expect from the 114th Congress.  Ann Wilson, senior vice president, government affairs for the Motor Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), will serve as moderator as attendees ask questions of the speaker during the final 15 minutes of the segment.
