The National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) is offering a new training course that will prepare candidates to take the national CCO certification for service truck crane operators.
The training course is September 30 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., presented by Venturo Training Services (VTS). On Oct. 1, the NCCCO written exam administration is from 8 a.m.-9:30 a.m. and the practical exam administration is from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. (45 minute time slots to be assigned)
OSHA’s new crane rule requires many operators of service truck cranes to be certified. NCCCO’s CCO certification has been developed by crane manufacturers, end users and employers to be the highest standard for demonstrating knowledge and skill related to operating service truck cranes. The course will cover both technical and best practice information and will also include hands-on instruction and operating time on the equipment. The course will cover content from the CCO written and practical exams including:
1. Site Conditions and Equipment Setup of Service Truck Cranes
2. General Operating Practice and Lifting Principles
3. Technical Knowledge of national industry standards/regulations
4. Understanding and Interpreting Manufacturer’s Load Charts
5. Actual Crane Operation Controls and Techniques
Those who pass both exams will receive a national Service Truck Crane Operator certification issued by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO). The cost is $700 advance ($775 on-site).
