The Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA), the commercial vehicle division of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), recently made several staff changes, including two employee promotions and two hires.

Beth Barkovich was promoted to executive director of membership development, and Katelyn Litalien was promoted to director of marketing and member services.

Barkovich has filled several roles since joining HDMA in 2012, mainly related to new member recruiting and new member council establishment. In her new position, she’ll primarily continue to lead member development, onboarding and engagement, as well as sales of sponsorships and affiliate member support programs.

In addition, Barkovich currently is responsible for the Off-Highway Business Forum, the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Representative Council, and the newest forum—Heavy Duty Business Forum India. She boasts 25 years of experience in the automotive and heavy-duty sectors, including former positions as marketing director with two global component manufacturers and another industry trade association. Barkovich holds a BSBA in finance/corporate stockbrokerage from West Virginia and a Series 6 securities license.

Litalien joined HDMA in December 2013.

Litalien has 11 years of experience in marketing management and holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration and marketing from UNC-Wilmington. Litalien and her team, which includes Erin Spring and Daniqua Burgin, will support HDMA events, forums and councils with marketing, communications and administration of HDMA’s member engagement activities.

“Since her first days at HDMA, Katelyn has shown great organizational and event management skills, as well as a strong understanding of marketing strategy,” the organization said.

HDMA also welcomed Erin Spring as manager of marketing communications and Daniqua Burgin as manager of meetings and member services.

Spring joined HDMA last year, bringing more than nine years of experience in marketing and communications. Previous roles included association and manufacturing industry work. In her new role at HDMA, she is responsible for developing and executing internal and external communications tools and strategies for events and member communications to increase awareness for HDMA member engagement activities. Spring has a Bachelor of Science in communications from East Carolina.

Burgin joined HDMA last year after working as a temporary employee for several months. She has several years of experience as a legal secretary in trusts and estate law and volunteered as a director/chair on various non-profit executive boards in her home state of New York and California.

At HDMA, Burgin is responsible for assisting with HDMA events and council/forum meeting planning, as well as council management processes and execution. She has an undergraduate degree in criminal justice.
