This feeder connects to the welder via its 10-pin Amphenol connector, holds wire spools up to 12 inches in diameter, and retains the welding output of the Millermatic welder.
Miller Electric Mfg Co designed the Millermatic Reach to extend work distances between the welder and welding location. The firm also designed the feeder for greater flexibility in wire selection; users can now switch instantly between wire types or sizes without having to change spools, drive rolls, or tension settings. The Auto-Gun Detect feature also allows users to simply pick up either gun — the welder's regular gun or the gun connected to the Millermatic Reach — and weld without having to change settings. The welder immediately recalls both the voltage and wire feed speed of the active gun.
The Millermatic Reach runs .023- to .052-in. wire up to 300 amps (60% duty cycle). It handles all forms of solid and tubular wire and is capable of synergic Pulsed MIG welding when connected to a Millermatic 350P power source. Unlike voltage-sensing wire feeders, the Millermatic Reach can communicate back to the welder. Users can remotely change the weld output when pulsing by adjusting the wire feed speed settings at the feeder.
Available with either a six- or 25-ft cable, the Millermatic Reach weighs 29 or 48 lbs (depending on cable length). Its polypropylene case with built-in slide rails makes the feeder durable and lets users change wire in the vertical position.
