Philippi-Hagenbuch recently received the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association’s 2019 Barry L MacLean Manufacturer of the Year award.
The Illinois Manufacturers’ Association (IMA) is a statewide association dedicated to advocating, promoting and strengthening the manufacturing sector in Illinois. As one of the oldest and largest state manufacturing associations in the country, IMA represents nearly 4,000 companies and facilities.
“For five decades, we have made Illinois our home and are honored to receive this award,” said Danette Swank, president of Philippi-Hagenbuch. “We owe our success to the dedication and forward thinking of our founders, LB Philippi and LeRoy Hagenbuch, as well as our creative and hard-working associates.
“Together, our passion has led us to become a global leader in custom, off-highway haul truck solutions.”
Philippi-Hagenbuch still is family owned, now in its third generation. Swank, wife of Josh Swank, the company’s vice president of sales and marketing, is the granddaughter of LB Phillippi.
Today Philippi-Hagenbuch, which this year is celebrating 50 years in business, is a leader in off-highway truck customization. They make tailgates, truck bodies, rear-eject bodies, water tanks and ultra-class trailers.
“I was thrilled to be at the annual luncheon of the Illinois Manufacturer’ Association (on Dec 6), and to see a wonderful company from the 91st district named the Manufacturer of the Year by the IMA,” said Rep Mike Unes, a Republican from East Peoria, in a Facebook post. “Philippi-Hagenbuch Inc is a true American success story and a fabulous employer in our area for 50 years.
“I am honored that I’ve had the opportunity to get to know this company, as well as form wonderful friendships with many throughout their organization. Congratulations to Philippi-Hagenbuch and thank you for your leadership in central Illinois.”
