APWA Show4Snow: Winter is (still) coming

At the APWA 2019 Snow Conference, it was a pleasant relief to have heard no "Winter is Coming" taglines here this week.

SALT LAKE CITY. With the opening of the 2019 North American Snow Conference coinciding with the final episode of a certain globally popular TV series, it was a pleasant relief to have come across no "Winter is Coming" taglines here this week. The explanation is simple: Winter is not an entertainment to the snowfighter members of the American Public Works Association, whose job is to make sure hibernal wonderlands don't become highway nightmares.

The show featured numerous educational sessions focused on improving snow management operations, along with an expo hall crowded with the latest safety-orange snow control equipment (see the snapshots above). And, of course, the gathering provided plenty of networking opportunities during which attendees shared their snowfighting tips and tricks.

For additional coverage of the conference, see the Trailer/Body BUILDERS annual Snow and Ice Control issue coming in September. The issue will feature the Snow & Ice Control Guide for 2020. The current guide can be found here. Manfucturers interested in having their snow control products included in the guide should provide contact information here to receive the guide forms by mid-summer.
