WSD Wheel Systems is expanding DURARIDE axle systems to the commercial trailer market in the US and Canada. The DURARIDE brand includes heavy duty, mechanical trailer axles (22.5k – 30k LBS), plus the related sundry components built for trailer OEMs and parts distributors.
WSD Wheel Systems has been supplying the United States, off-road, OEM market with custom tire and wheel assemblies for over 30 years. Beginning five years ago, WSD invested in the engineering resources to develop, test, and manufacture the DURARIDE axle systems program.
WSD has been supplying top-tier trailer builders in California, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Today, there are many thousands of DURARIDE heavy duty trailer axles on the road, according to the company.
Mike Kay, founder and President at WSD, made the decision to introduce the DURARIDE axle systems program, because it was a “natural progression for WSD’s customer base.”
“Many of our existing heavy-duty customers were seeking a new supplier for axles,” Kay said. “There was a need, so we jumped on the opportunity.”
DURARIDE axle systems offers several value-add, supply chain services to support the OEM Market. JIT delivery is available with US-based, stock-to-forecast warehousing and end-to-end logistics services, WSD noted. Additionally, concurrent engineering with 3D modeling is available to ensure DURARIDE axles will perform at every OEM use-case for the heavy-duty industry.
