Truck-Lite this month integrated STEMCO wireless products into the Road Ready system via its SmartBridge Integrator, and completed the acquisition of TrackPoint Systems, a supplier of asset management solutions.

The recent integration with STEMCO allows fleets to access information from their STEMCO wireless products, including tire pressure, inflation and mileage events, through Truck-Lite’s SBI, which bridges OE trailer systems with the Road Ready network, helping them manage their assets, and avoid damage and downtime.

The Road Ready network is designed to communicates crucial trailer data to a fleet dispatcher and provides greater insight into a trailer environment, Truck-Lite said.

“Tying STEMCO into the Road Ready system is the latest major development in creating a complete  telematics network,” said Rob Richard, general manager of Truck-Lite’s road ready division. “Any fleet currently utilizing wireless STEMCO systems can immediately incorporate and benefit from Road Ready.”

The SBI will transmit data from the complete suite of STEMCO wireless products, including the AirBat Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Aeris Automatic Tire Inflation System (ATIS) and TracBat hubodometer.

“Our wireless ATIS and TPMS products are designed to provide valuable data to our customers, and this integration makes that data even more accessible,” said Lee Alexander, director of product management, and tire and mileage solutions for STEMCO. “This data makes a significant difference for fleets in the way they manage and run their businesses."

TrackPoint supplies asset management solutions to the transportation, utility, construction, oilfield and government sectors.

Truck-Lite entered a joint development project with TrackPoint in January 2017, with the goal of communicating information from Truck-Lite’s Light-Out Detection System to a fleet’s back office. TrackPoint’s solar-powered and wireless capabilities significantly complemented Road Ready’s technology roadmap, Truck-Lite said.

Since then, Road Ready developed into an independent business unit, providing what Truck-Lite says is the industry’s first true smart trailer network tied to telematics.

“Entering an agreement with TrackPoint was a key factor in Truck-Lite’s emergence as a leading telematics systems provider,” said Brian Kupchella, Truck-Lite’s CEO. “By combining our resources and expertise, we’ve built the most dynamic and customizable trailer telematics network available.”
