Kerry Brothers Truck Repair recently reported a significant regional expansion across the greater Detroit area through three strategic acquisitions and the opening of a new service facility.

The growth initiative, finalized in July, targets diverse segments of the commercial vehicle market, including heavy-duty trucking, municipal transit, and specialized school bus fleets .

"With Kustom Truck & Trailer to the east, the Detroit  Bus Garage at the heart of it all, Downriver Truck and Bus to the south, and our new Wixom facility  to the west and north, we are expanding in every direction—growing our footprint, the range of  vehicles we service, and the customers we can support, from heavy-duty trucks and trailers to mass  transit and school buses. We are building the kind of maintenance partner Southeast Michigan deserves.”

The expansion includes the following strategic moves, the company reported:

• Acquisition of Kustom Truck & Trailer (Lenox/New Haven): This acquisition extends Kerry Brothers’ reach eastward, integrating heavy-duty truck and trailer repair with specialized expertise in custom metal fabrication, dump bodies, and custom truck-bed accessories.
• Acquisition of Vehicle Clinic (Detroit): Centrally located, this facility brings over 40 years of experience in mass transit and municipal bus fleet services.
• Acquisition of Downriver Truck and Bus (Brownstown): This southern expansion adds specialized knowledge in school bus maintenance and State of Michigan certification-ready standards
• New Wixom Facility: The opening of a 20,000-square-foot center in Wixom allows the company to serve the northern and western regions of Southeast Michigan. The facility offers a comprehensive suite of services, including light- and heavy-duty truck repair, diesel engine maintenance, and full-scale fleet management.

While the financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed, operations at all locations are expected to continue without interruption. 

The company indicated that these moves are part of a broader strategy to scale its shop network across Michigan while continuing to invest in workforce development for the region's maintenance sector.
