NAFA opens 2026 Green Fleet Awards applications to highlight sustainable fleet practices

NAFA Fleet Management Association recently opened applications for its 2026 Green Fleet Awards program.

The organization, which serves as a membership association for the vehicle fleet industry, will recognize government and commercial fleets across North America for achievements in sustainability and environmental stewardship.

The Green Fleet Awards are open to fleets at no cost and are designed to reflect the challenges and requirements facing fleet professionals. Applicants are evaluated on several factors, including fleet composition, fuel and emissions performance, sustainability accomplishments, outreach efforts, policies and planning, fuel-saving technologies, and executive and employee engagement.

For 2026, NAFA expanded the program to include a new sustainable fleet facilities category. One fleet applicant will receive the Green Garage Award, which recognizes leadership in environmentally responsible facility design and operations.

Applications for the 2026 Green Fleet Awards close July 17. Winners will be revealed August 25 during the Sustainable Fleet Technology Conference & Expo 2026, where fleet professionals will gather to discuss developments in fleet sustainability.
