'Strong like you': HDAW '22 sets theme

Aug. 28, 2021
This year’s message reflects the 'grit, dedication, boldness' required to make it in the aftermarket parts industry

Conference organizers for Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW)—the largest North American gathering of heavy duty aftermarket professionals in the industry—have chosen “Strong Like You” as the theme for HDAW ‘22, which signifies the industry’s resilience throughout the pandemic. HDAW '22 will take place in-person January 24-27 at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas.

To lead the effort, David McCleave, director of marketing and aftermarket at Hendrickson, and Bill Nolan, president at PBS Truck Parts, have been named as the conference co-chairs, and Bill Betts of Betts Truck Parts and Service has been named as distributor vice-chairman. Collectively, they will represent the needs of suppliers and distributors alike.

“While we appreciated the chance to connect virtually, we now truly recognize and value our industry’s need to connect and do business in person,” said Nolan, the newly-elected distributor chair for HDAW ‘22. “This year’s theme, ‘Strong Like You,’ represents the grit, dedication, boldness required to make it in our industry, and these past two years have helped make the realization that we are stronger when we are all together. I look forward to working closely with David and conference organizers to shape this year’s return.”

HDAW is the largest gathering of heavy duty aftermarket professionals in the industry. HDAW ’22 will host heavy duty aftermarket professionals for four days of education, workshops, one-on-one business meetings, a Service Opportunities Learning Day, one-on-one business meetings, product training, valuable networking opportunities with top industry executives of all major heavy duty suppliers, and a product expo that offers an exclusive view of the latest products in the heavy duty aftermarket.

“I’m honored to be selected as the supplier chair for HDAW ’22 and will work with Bill to use our backgrounds to craft a hands-on experience full of the latest education, invaluable networking opportunities, and two years’ worth of new products,” said McCleave. “Like you, the aftermarket industry is strong, and HDAW ‘22 will be our opportunity to stay on top of the resources and education needed to navigate and move past the challenges we’ve faced. We can’t wait to see you there.”

HDAW’s education offerings serve as a focal point to guide the independent heavy-duty aftermarket industry through its ever-evolving landscape. Education sessions planned for the 2022 event will address logistics, freight and other supply chain issues, offer strategies for retaining quality employees, and help to accelerate attendees’ e-commerce strategy in a changing market. A complete line up of sessions will be announced in September.

HDAW ’22 conference organizers are committed to holding a live, in-person event and will follow CDC, state and local guidelines to deliver a safe experience for all attendees, exhibitors and event staff. For more information, visit the HDAW website.
