Medium and Heavy Truck Sales Up 10% in November

Medium and heavy truck sales were up 10% in November over the same period a year ago and down 10% from the previous month, according to figures compiled by Wards Communications.

Dealers sold 57,684 trucks with GVW ratings above 10,000 pounds during the month, up from November 2014 (52,340) and down from October 2015 (63,820).

Compared with November 2014, Class 8 trucks were up 15% (19,928, compared to 16,706). Class 7 sales were 4,617, up 24% from 3,721.

For the year, truck dealers have sold 660,596 trucks with GVW ratings above 10,000 pounds, up 10% from 598,390 in 2014. Class 8 sales have been 228,021, a 16% increase from the same period last year (197,026). Class 7 sales have been up 10% (53,697, compared to 48,881).

Total sales of all classes have been up 12%, from 8,270,045 to 9,269,628.

Every class has been up. The biggest increase, other than Class 7 and 8, has been in Class 1 (15%).
