Volvo Trucks announced that it will lay off 734 workers at its plant in Dublin, VA, because of reduced demand, according to a Columbus Dispatch report.
According to the report, layoffs will begin in February as an attempt to “adapt to market changes including a decline in demand for long-haul trucks.”
The New River Valley Assembly plant is 1.6-million sq. ft. and is the largest Volvo manufacturing facility in the world, according to the company’s website. The plant currently employs 2,800 workers.
