Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA) has appointed a new full-service dealership on the island of Guam, a U.S. protectorate. The dealership, Morrico Equipment LLC, joins more than 200 MFTA authorized dealers that currently operate across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
FUSO trucks — Class 3–5 diesel-powered, medium-duty cabover designs — are widely used by food distributors and wholesalers serving the hotel and restaurant industries, as well as for beverage delivery, catering, refrigerated and dry cargo delivery fleets, vehicle recovery, towing, pest control, plumbing, light construction and landscaping. And all of these market segments are prevalent on Guam.
Todd Bloom, MFTA’s president and CEO, noted, “We are extremely pleased to be able to expand our business into the Guam market. The island has a thriving economy, and the FUSO Canter, with its low cost-of-ownership, cabover maneuverability and high payload capacity, should be well-suited to the truck transport needs of a wide variety of businesses operating there.”
According to Allan Morrison, President of Morrico Equipment, “We think FUSO is a great fit for businesses on Guam. Our primary target is a business operating on large-volume deliveries and small margins. Our role as truck dealers is to supply these wholesalers with equipment that is correctly specified for Guam conditions. We must stock both service and replacement parts. We must employ factory-certified technicians to get those customers’ trucks back on the road. This is our commitment to both our supplier and our local customers, and we’re excited about this opportunity to offer a cost-effective transportation solution for Guam businesses.”
Morrico Equipment will operate as a full-service dealership, providing new truck sales, parts and service for the full line of Mitsubishi Fuso Canter FE/FG Series medium-duty work trucks.
