A joint agreement has been formed between Dana Corp and Express Brake International to supply the EBI Express Brake System to Spicer Trailer Product Division.
Patented in the United States and 35 other nations, the system is a pivoting brake shoe that hinges on one end and drops down on the other by a removable locking pin. This allows brake pads to be changed on all four trailer wheels in less than 20 minutes. By removing the lock pin and unbolting side grippers, new brake pads can slip into place.
Changing brake pads requires a 1/2" wrench and a lever to lift the upper shoe back in place. Trailer wheels are not removed, and the truck is never taken out of service. The EBI brake system is guaranteed for one million miles.
