Truck-Lite has added a low-profile application to its LED Solid-State Warning (SWL) lamp, providing a shorter standing that makes the lamp less susceptible to physical damage while improving functionality on municipal and off-highway equipment.

Made of impact-resistant, durable threaded polycarbonate, the lamps meet or exceed SAE Warning Lamp Standard J845 Class I legal functions at 12 volts to 16 volts and are operational down to 8 volts at temperatures from –40 deg. F to 158 deg. F.

The internal optic lenses leave a smooth outer surface for easier cleaning and resistance to build-up. Each SWL operates with peak current of only 3 amps to flash 18 light-emitting diodes. It can be wired to provide dual or quad flash patterns.

The electronics and light sources are encapsulated in epoxy to enhance resistances to corrosion from road chemicals and corrosive environments, Truck-Lite said. Options include a yellow (amber) lens or a clear lens with yellow LEDs.

The lamps, which can be surface mounted or pipe-mounted, carry a 5-year limited warranty.
