The new facility — part of the 135,000 square feet of manufacturing operations housed at the global headquarters — is the result of several million dollars of investment to keep technology development and skilled manufacturing jobs in the greater Philadelphia/southeastern Pennsylvania region in order to better serve the company's North America customer base.

Southco serves more than 70,000 customers in 70 nations with 3,000 employees worldwide. Its engineered access systems include key “touch points” such as locks, latches, captive fasteners, positioning hinges, handles, and other products. Applications for Southco products cover industries such as marine, automotive, off-highway/construction, RV/caravan.
