Wastequip announced a series of promotions and organizational leadership moves as part of its leadership and talent development process, including the promotion of John Defenbaugh to president of the mobile division.

Defenbaugh has been with Wastequip for more than 16 years, and has served in a variety of roles including regional sales manager, general manager and vice president of operations, and most recently, senior vice president of operational excellence. In his most recent role, he successfully implemented lean practices to drive efficiency improvements and cost reductions across all divisions.

In his new role as mobile division president, Defenbaugh will assume responsibility for sales and operations for Galbreath, Pioneer, Mountain Tarp and Parts Place brands.

Shawn King has been named president of Wastequip’s technical division and will focus on growing Wastequip’s market share for compactors and balers. King previously served as mobile division president, and has held various leadership roles within Wastequip including vice president of marketing and vice president of sales.

Tim Phanco has been named vice president of sales for Toter and brings a track record of successful waste industry sales experience from past sales leadership roles at Otto and Rehrig Pacific. Phanco joined Wastequip earlier this year as vice president/general manager of the technical division.

“These moves will help Wastequip continue growing as overall business and competitive conditions change,” said Marty Bryant, CEO of Wastequip. “Additionally, this organizational realignment allows us to continue developing top talent within Wastequip to ensure we have the best team in place to serve our customers.”
