Chris Fancher, Muncie Power Products’ senior vice president of internet technology and administration, plans to retire at the end of December, ending a distinguished and dedicated career.

“We wish him well in his retirement,” the company said. “He will truly be missed.”

Fancher’s name is synonymous with the Muncie Power brand, the company said. The high professional and personal standards he demonstrates daily helped build our company and culture into what it is today—a quality organization that’s well respected in our industry and community.

Since beginning his career with the company in 1978, Fancher has served in various capacities at Muncie Power, including shipping and receiving clerk, bench assembler, accounting clerk/manager, internal auditor and inventory control, data processing manager, corporate controller, vice president and corporate controller, senior vice president of finance and administration, and senior vice president IT and administration. He also served on the board of Muncie Power Products for 12 years, as treasurer from 2006-11, and treasurer and secretary from 2012 to today.

Fancher worked with and learned from various leaders within the company during his long career. The most influential was former president Hamer Shafer, who he said played a large role as a mentor in his development as a business professional and leader in the company and community.
