There still is time to register for the 55th Canadian Transportation Equipment Association (CTEA) Manufacturers Conference.

This year’s conference is set for Oct. 22-24 at the Westin Prince in Toronto, Ontario, which serves as a center of Canadian business, finance, arts and culture, and is recognized as one of the world’s most multicultural cities.

‘Interconnectivity is the Key’ is this year’s theme, reflecting the mission the CTEA has placed at the forefront of its operations since its inception. CTEA said the industry currently is facing challenges with the North American Free Trade Agreement renegotiations, which include an agreement on a rebalanced deal called the United States Mexico Canada Agreement reached Sept. 30 before a US-imposed deadline.

The conference also will include updates on the tariff situation facing the industry.

“Now, more than ever, we need to be informed and work together to find solutions for our sector and adapt to the transformations we are facing,” said Greg Grabinsky, CTEA president. “The CTEA’s role is essential in bringing us together and being a voice that represents us at federal and provincial levels of government.”

CTEA said its staff worked hard to plan for its members an “informative conference” with “diverse sessions,” including an expert tariff panel, trailer forum, OEM chassis update and a new products presentation.

Keynote speakers include Rona Ambrose, who advises the Canadian government on NAFTA negotiations with the US and Mexico, and Andrew Leslie, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“We hope this conference provides you with invaluable learning and networking opportunities, so you can go forward with your respective duties and responsibilities in your workplace,” Grabinsky said.
