Morgan Corporation, North America’s largest manufacturer of medium-duty truck bodies, is holding a grand opening for its new Connecticut facility Nov. 14 in Plainfield CT.
The celebration will include a ribbon-cutting, open house and product demonstrations, and John Poindexter, board chairman and CEO of JB Poindexter & Co, Morgan’s parent company, will deliver introductory remarks.
The new Connecticut facility is capable of supporting production of 3,000 dry freight and reefer truck bodies annually, Morgan said. The 175,000-square-foot facility is expected to employ approximately 140 team members.
The facility, located at 85 Moosup Pond Rd, is Morgan’s 13th in the US and Canada.
The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut said the ribbon-cutting ceremony will run from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14. The event, which includes coffee, pastries and lunch, is free to attend.
