Wabash National Awards $75,000 in Scholarships to High School Graduates

Wabash National Corporation (NYSE: WNC) has awarded 20 recent high school graduates with scholarships that, combined, represent a total award of $75,000.

Wabash National Corporation (NYSE: WNC) has awarded 20 recent high school graduates with scholarships that, combined, represent a total award of $75,000.

Wabash National administered two scholarship programs for the 2016-17 academic year: one for Wabash National associates and another for the company’s supplier partners.

“Knowing the importance that advanced education plays in our lives, our communities, and our industry, we hope these scholarship programs will help to develop the next generation of leaders,” said Dick Giromini, president and chief executive officer. “We congratulate these students on their achievements, and wish them much success as they pursue their career goals.”

Ten students each received a one-time scholarship award of $5,000 as part of the annual Wabash National Scholarship Program for children of Wabash National associates. Established in 1990, scholarships are awarded to children of Wabash National associates who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership and strong extracurricular involvement. Scholarship recipients were selected by an independent committee of educators and administrators of the Tippecanoe School Corporation based on students’ grade point average, SAT scores and extracurricular activities. Scholarship recipients are:

  • Alyssa Allard, a 2016 graduate of New Lisbon High School in New Lisbon, Wisconsin
  • Jason Diebolt, a 2016 graduate of St. Theodore Guerin High School in Noblesville, Indiana
  • Jenna Diebolt, a 2016 graduate of St. Theodore Guerin High School in Noblesville, Indiana
  • Antonio Luna Lopez, a 2016 graduate of William Henry Harrison High School in West Lafayette, Indiana
  • Katelyn Lunde, a 2016 graduate of Royall High School in Elroy, Wisconsin
  • John Murphy, a 2016 graduate of Rossville High School in Rossville, Indiana
  • Andrew Ross, a 2016 graduate of William Henry Harrison High School in West Lafayette, Indiana
  • Crystal Staudt, a 2016 graduate of Seneca Valley Senior High School in Harmony, Pennsylvania
  • Sonja Storz, a 2016 graduate of McCutcheon High School in Lafayette, Indiana
  • Joel Walker, a 2016 graduate of Rensselaer Central High School in Rensselaer, Indiana

In addition, 10 students each received a one-time scholarship award of $2,500 as part of the Wabash National Corporation Academic Scholarship Program. This scholarship program, available only to children of Wabash National suppliers, was launched in spring 2016. Scholarship recipients were selected by an independent third party—Center for Scholarship Administration. Scholarship recipients are:

  • Nolan Ditcher, a 2016 graduate of Randolph Central High School in Randolph, New York
  • Boyang Dun, a 2016 graduate of Canterbury High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana
  • Simone Fischel, a 2016 graduate of Dublin Jerome High School in Dublin, Ohio
  • Emily Fleming, a 2016 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School in Fortville, Indiana
  • Alexandria Hargrave, a 2016 graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School in Plymouth, Pennsylvania
  • Jacob Kell, a 2016 graduate of Vineland High School in Vineland, New Jersey
  • Adam Miceli, a 2016 graduate of Downingtown STEM Academy in Downingtown, Pennsylvania
  • David Miller, a 2016 graduate of Frankfort High School in Frankfort, Indiana
  • Isabella Reda, a 2016 graduate of Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in Aurora, Illinois
  • Kaitlyn Thompson, a 2016 graduate of Hayden High School in Hayden, Alabama
