Roehl Orders 500 TrailerTails for Wabash Trailers

July 16, 2013

Roehl Transport will expand its investment in ATDynamics’ TrailerTail aerodynamics technology by installing 500 TrailerTails on new trailers ordered from Wabash National in 2013.

Roehl began testing the product in 2012 with an initial deployment of 100 TrailerTails.

“Roehl’s on-road testing confirmed the fuel savings benefit and durability of TrailerTail technology,” said Rick Roehl, president of Roehl Transport. “Drivers understand that in addition to saving fuel, aerodynamic trailers are safer, handle better in high winds and reduce dangerous road spray.”

The deployment of an additional 500 TrailerTails by Roehl will offset the fuel consumption and carbon emissions equivalent to taking approximately 500 passenger vehicles off the road.

ATDynamics projects that there will be 50,000 TrailerTails on U.S. highways by 2014.
