Kentucky Trailer announced the acquisition of Volunteer Trailer, a Nashville, Tennessee-based trailer service company and dealer of Kentucky Trailer products.

Effective immediately, the transaction allows Kentucky Trailer to provide direct service to an expanded range of end-users in the Southeast United States. Founded in 1979, Volunteer Trailer continues to operate under the same name and the Tennessee-based employees and management will retain their current roles as new Kentucky Trailer employees.

“After nearly 30 years, Kentucky Trailer has built a wonderful relationship with Bill Trimble, Dwight Pruitt, Wanda Jones, and the entire team at Volunteer Trailer - and we intend this to be a seamless transition for every Volunteer customer,” said William T. Tway II, Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development with Kentucky Trailer. “Volunteer has always been a great partner and friend to Kentucky Trailer. We are thrilled to have them join our family.”

Charles Ducas, Kentucky Trailer’s Vice President of Marketing and General Manager of Kentucky Trailer Services, will manage the company’s new facility. Ducas added, “Kentucky Trailer has established new growth vehicles with a distinct focus upon trailer refurbishment, trade-ins, financing, and used sales. Volunteer Trailer is an opportune fit within these new initiatives.”

This purchase positions Kentucky Trailer to increase its service business and leverage Volunteer Trailer’s established customer base. More specifically, Volunteer Trailer’s maintenance and refurbishment facility now provides an additional, convenient connection to crucial service for customers who may otherwise send trailers to Kentucky Trailer Services in Louisville, Kentucky.
