Don Wahlin, CEO of Stoughton Trailers LLC, announced today that his sons, Bill, Ken and Bob Wahlin, will assume the management and leadership of the company, effective immediately.

Don Wahlin, 72, will continue in his roles as CEO and chairman of the board.

“It is time for all of us to prepare for the future of our company with a transition in leadership,” he said. “I am approaching my 73rd birthday, and I have been told that it is unlikely I will live forever. While I am not yet fully convinced of this, I am ready to take the next step in succession by withdrawing from day-to-day management of Stoughton Trailers.

“As we prepare to start another year, our focus is to deliver on our commitments to customers, suppliers, employees and our outside sales force. I am confident we are positioned to take advantage of opportunities the marketplace presents to us, and I believe we have a strong management team in place to do so. I also believe the ability to manage through change, while ‘keeping your eye on the ball’, is key to successful leadership. Sometimes the biggest challenge in a leadership change is to let go of old ways and accept new ones.”
