Keizer Refrigeration, Mid-States Utility Trailer Sales open new Sioux City facility

Keizer Refrigeration, a distributor for Carrier Transicold, and Mid-States Utility Trailer Sales, a dealership of Utility Manufacturing refrigerated trailers, dry vans and flatbeds, has opened a new facility in Sioux City, IA.

The new dealership building, at 5220 Harbor Drive, Exit 141 of Interstate 29, is eight miles to the south of its previous location on U.S. Highway 75. As part of its relocation and expansion, the company has added seven new employees to its current staff of fifty and continues hiring service technicians for both Mid-States Utility Trailer Sales and for Keizer Refrigeration.

"We are excited to grow in Sioux City," the President of Keizer Companies Shane Keizer said. "We are happy to be along the interstate and get more exposure. Our previous facility was very limited on space and did not allow any room for growth, so we decided to build a new place, in a better location that will offer a much better experience for our customers.”

The new 55,000-square-foot facility includes a two-floor office area for trailer sales, showroom for truckers to purchase truck and trailer parts, drivers’ waiting room and a service center with 16 service bays and a new drive-through wash station.

The service department is currently running a day shift, with the addition of extended hours into the evening in the near future. The dealership’s fleet of five fully equipped service trucks are ready to provide emergency road service and on-site repair.

The project has doubled the company's service and parts area and the new location's proximity to the new Bridgeport West Industrial Park is expected to add new business. The lot can accommodate 300 trailers and showcases new and used Utility 3000R reefers, 4000D-X Composite dry vans, 4000AE Combo flatbeds as well as Maurer, East and Landoll trailers.

“We will be excited to show off our brand new facility at our Grand Opening which will take place later this year,” Keizer added.
