NTEA Releases Revised Commercial Vehicle Certification Guide

The National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) has released a newly updated edition of its Commercial Vehicle Certification Guide, which includes all of the critical elements needed to comply with the federal laws and regulations on motor vehicle certification and labeling.

Designed to assist commercial vehicle upfitters in satisfying the complex vehicle certification requirements, the Guide clarifies labeling as it relates to intermediate, final-stage and altered manufacturing. Procedures for Tire and Loading Information and Cargo Carrying Capacity Modification labels are also covered.

The Guide is your resource for labeling requirements, including instructions for label use, location and proper compliance; the Incomplete Vehicle Document; real-world, industry-specific examples; penalties; recall and remedy; early warning reporting; record retention; submission of manufacturing identification to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA); and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and compliance calculations.
